Brandon Vezmar, 37, is suing his unnamed Bumble date after she allegedly checked her phone between 10 and 20 times to read and send texts while they were at an Austin, Texas, movie theater, KVUE reports. Court documents show he is asking for $17.31 to reimburse their movie tickets.

"I said 'listen, your texting is driving me a little nuts' and she said 'I can't not text my friend.' I said 'maybe you can take it outside to the lobby, I've seen people get kicked out movies for this," he told the station of their Guardians of the Galaxy 2 first date. She did exactly that - and then left.

Vezmar insisted it wasn't not so much about being reimbursed - the “principle is important as Defendant's behavior is a threat to civilized society," the suit reads.

When contacted by the American-Statesman by phone, the woman, 35, was unaware the petition that had been filed. “Oh my God. This is crazy,” she said. She added she hadn’t been texting nearly as much as Vezmar claims and that her friend was fighting with her boyfriend, so she wanted to help. “I’m not a bad woman,” she explained. “I just went out on a date.”

Additionally, the woman said she planned to file a protective order against Vezmar in response. He reportedly contacted both her and her little sister for money for the tickets after she left the theater.

Vezmar told KVUE he was "fully aware of the weirdness of this situation.” There you have it! This is normal and fine. Men are great! Everything is fine.
