OK, toy stores are officially making everyone cry lately. First Toys R Us announced it's closing every single last one of its stores, and now Build-A-Bear just did away with it's Pay Your Age Day sale where customers could come in, make a stuffed animal, and pay whatever their age is.

So basically if you've been salty that your parents never bought you a Build-A-Bear, then that was your chance to get it at possibly a lower price than usual. For all the kids out there, today was supposed to be the best day ever because who doesn't want a stuffed animal!? But it turns out everyone also thought the same thing so the lines ended up being so long that Build-A-Bear had to turn away potential customers.

You could imagine the shock and disappointment that customers felt when stores announced at 11:30 a.m. today they were closing because of the overwhelming demand that they just couldn't meet.

Build-A-Bear has since apologized for shutting down the sale, which was originally announced on Monday.

The company released a statement that read:

"Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Pay Your Age Day event generated an overwhelming response, resulting in long lines, extensive waits and disappointed Guests. We feel it is important to share that, based on the information available to us before the day began, we could not have predicted this reaction to our Pay Your Age Day event."

The company also opted to give vouchers to those who waited in line and to Build-A-Bear Bonus Club members. To qualify for the sale, customers had to provide an email address, which is how the toy company will contact them.

But, of course, there were angry parents who started tweeting at the toy shop about how frustrated their children were.

Although, some tweeters managed to find some humor in the whole situation.
