Writer J. Warren Welch's post on the rules he has for anyone who might date his daughters one day has gone massively viral over the past week. The post - which is lovely, no shade - has been hailed as "epic," "brilliantly empowering," and "perfect."

TL;DR, Welch, a feminist, is raising his daughters as feminists. "If you don't [respect them], I promise they won't need my help putting you back in your place," he writes, breaking with the tired, dumb trope of an overprotective dad needing to shield his daughter from bad men.

That's great! Truly! And treating his attitude as revolutionary is about as unhelpful as, IDK, praising a man for not recognizing his hot wife and instead seeing her as just any hot woman, or, IDK, calling sorority girls shrill and scary for being excited about rush week.

TL;DR II: Relax.
