The data centre in Loyang will offer 24/7 connectivity services.

StarHub has forged a partnership with Australian data centre startup Airtrunk to bring data centre services to Singapore, the company announced.

Through this partnership, StarHub will offer services from AirTrunk's 60-Megawatt hyperscale data centre campus in Loyang, AirTrunk SGP1.

Set to open in mid-2020, the facility will cater to hyperscale companies across functions of e-gaming, e-sports, and e-commerce. The data centre is designed to be carrier-neutral, with the capability to interconnect to the public cloud providers onsite at AirTrunk SGP1 in Loyang.

Starhub aims to develop 5G solutions from the facility soon.

"With 5G expected to be available in Singapore from next year, we envisage the proliferation of new services through 5G's mobile edge computing and campus networking capabilities," says Arthur Tang, Head of StarHub's Enterprise business group.
