Two teens plead guilty to robbing bank officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Two 19-year-old youths pleaded guilty to robbing a bank officer near the People’s Housing Project (PPR) flat in Kepong here last month.

The duo, Muhammad Alsharif Madsa and Muhammad Amirul Hafiz Sudirman Shah, pleaded guilty after they were jointly charged at the Sessions Court here today.

However, Judge Emelia Kaswati Mohamad Khalid fixed Dec 12 to deliver her judgement pending a report from the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

According to the charge sheet, the duo were charged with assaulting bank officer Low Shi Jie, who was robbed of his Perodua Myvi, iPhone 7, house access key, and RM150 in cash.

The incident occurred at 3am on Oct 29.

The offence falls under Section 395 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum 20 years’ imprisonment and a stroke of the rotan, upon conviction.

The court set RM3,000 bail for each of the accused and placed them under a curfew from 6am to 10am every day.
