We weren’t kidding when we recently told you Singapore’s one of the most surveilled cities in the world. Even ordinary plants are apparently being monitored 24/7, especially those in Geylang.

One man was on Monday caught on video, um … “shopping” for what certainly looks to be other people’s plants at the corner of Sims Avenue and Geylang Lorong 35, where a bathroom and kitchen fittings store is located, according to Google Maps.

The camera, which seemed to be placed in the store’s display window, captured a clear view of the flora filching without the alleged plant thief noticing.

Check out the Google Street View of the location below:

The seven-minute video has garnered more than 100,000 views on the District Singapore Facebook page since it went up the same day and starts off with the culprit arriving at the scene in his blue Honda to first, examine the scene.

In the video, the man can be seen stepping out of his car, then looking around suspiciously from behind the collection of plants outside the store before opening up the boot of his car to rearrange a few things. He then shuts it, jumps back into the car and drives off.

Two minutes later, the man was back, this time grabbing one of the bigger potted plants before driving off, then returns a third time to take yet another look at the plants and grab one more.
