The third supermoon of 2019 – and the last one of the year – took place on March 20, coinciding with the spring equinox. The rare phenomenon last occurred in spring 1905 and won't take place again until 2144. Its unusual name takes its origins in agricultural practices, marking the emergence of worms around this time of the year.
