A frustrated driver has told how a woman sparked a parking row by standing in a space and refusing to budge.

Dashcam footage captured the incident which led to a Mexican standoff in a busy car park in Flushing, New York over the weekend.

The driver was pulling into a free spot when a woman wearing glasses and a green bodywarmer runs in front.

She then stands blocking the space waving her finger.

The unnamed man driving shouts: "Are you serious?

"This is a car parking space, not a woman parking space, get out of here!"

But she refuses to move claiming she is reserving it for another driver.

The man who published the clip online says a white Jeep soon appeared and "tried to come up real close to my car as if it was going to intimidate me to leave."

He claims the blockader and the Jeep driver then "had the audacity to call me unreasonable."

The man said when the woman ran into the space, the Jeep wasn't nearby but was on another aisle.

He added: "I'm sure we've all had our share of standing in spots hoping to save it for someone, but if another car gets there first, we don't act like little entitled children like these two here."

The man said the situation was eventually resolved by another driver who saw the scene and offered one of the drivers her spot.

He said he then decided to "take the high road" and agreed to move.
