The newest member of Team Secret, Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan, recently went on the OG Monkey Business Show podcast and shared how he came to join his new team, saying he "would have never expected to play for Team Secret".

"[Team Secret Dota 2 manager Matthew "Cyborgmatt" Bailey] messaged me on Twitter and said I should have a steam invite from [Clement "Puppey" Ivanov] and he messaged me to know if I'm a free agent or what's my plans for the new season," BOOM told podcast hosts Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and JMR Luna.

"It was pretty random, I would have never expected to play for Team Secret."

BOOM originally wanted to join Team Liquid

BOOM was a part of Gaimin Gladiators at The International 11 (TI11). The team were able to take down Fnatic in the opening round of the lower bracket before falling to OG in round two.

After leaving Gaimin Gladiators at the conclusion of TI11, BOOM had to find a new home in order to compete in the 2023 DPC season.

He revealed that his first choice was Team Liquid, the third-placed team at the tournament.

"A few days after Liquid announced they were looking for a player, I was talking to Liquid for a bit, to [team coach William "Blitz" Lee]. And he said that they are full," said BOOM.

Despite not finding a place with Team Liquid, BOOM didn't have to wait long for offers to come on. It only took a day for Team Secret to come knocking on BOOM's door.

But even if Team Secret were the ones to approach him with an offer, BOOM said he still has a lot to prove with his new team.

The new midlaner for Team Secret is aware that his predecessor is one of the best players in the world. Michał "Nisha" Jankowski has appeared in the last three TI's and placed fourth, third, and second respectively.

BOOM had nothing but praise for the former midlaner, stating in the podcast interview that Nisha was the best player at TI11.

"[Team Secret] had Nisha, in my opinion, one of the best, if not the best players at TI and mid laners especially, like I think he was the best for a long time already, so it's big shoes to fill," said BOOM.

BOOM will make his debut with Team Secret in the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, which begins in early January 2023.

Team Secret plays in Western Europe, arguably the strongest Dota 2 region right now. It'll be interesting to see how the team fares with their new midlaner once the season begins.
