Gianluigi Buffon says he has received "interesting proposals" further fuelling speculation of a shock move to Liverpool.

The Italian shot-stopper announced his decision to leave Juventus this summer in a press conference on Thursday, ending his 17-year spell at the club.

It was initially thought the 40-year-old would retire, however Buffon has since revealed he may delay hanging up his gloves.

Buffon told Juventus: "What will I do? For now I only know Saturday I will play my last game. Andrea Agnelli knows everything that happens around me. He is an advisor.

"Until a few a days ago I was certain I would retire from football. Now some interesting proposals have arrived.

"I live to take myself out of my comfort zone and accept exciting challenges."

His revelation comes just hours after reports emerged of Liverpool apparently expressing an interest in the shot-stopper.

According to Italian pay-per-view sports channel Premium Sport, Anfield chiefs are mulling over a move for Buffon as they look for another shot-stopper to challenge Loris Karius for the number one spot.

Buffon added at his press conference: "Saturday will be my last game for Juventus. I think it's the best way to end this wonderful adventure.

"To end it with another two victories, which are truly important, and to end it with the closeness and accompaniment of Andrea and the whole Juventus family.

"I cannot thank the president for his kind words. It gives me great pleasure that so many people have come out to see me. My principles have always been honesty, loyalty and to fight against hyprocrisy.

"I'm very emotional, but I arrive today with happiness and fulfilment. I always tried to do my best."
