5-foot-long python causes traffic chaos on motorway

A five-foot-long python caused traffic chaos on a motorway bridge in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on May 6. The stray serpent sparked panic among drivers when it slithered onto the motorway. Animal rescuers arrived and attempted to capture the python, which writhed angrily as it tried to escape. But the python was eventually bagged up and driven several miles away to a forest where it was released. “It was a dangerous situation for the snake because a car could have easily hit it and that might have caused a crash,” said snake catcher Anyawut Phoampai from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
