Passenger jets have difficult landing at Leeds Bradford Airport
Gusts of up to 50 knots (60mph) gave pilots extreme difficulty when making their way to Leeds Bradford Airport on Saturday (February 9). Pilots flying British Airways and Ryanair aircraft amongst others who were returning to the Yorkshire airport experienced major disruption as the severe wind caused two go-arounds and two diversions. Storm Erik has since diminished but The Met Office is still issuing yellow weather warnings as temperatures are set to decline this week.
