Audi Prologue Concept Debuts at L.A. Auto Show

If we had our way, every car in Audi’s lineup would look like the R8. That’s obviously not possible, but a lineup that mimics the Audi Prologue concept, which debuted at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, wouldn’t be so bad, either.

Audi says the Prologue concept hints at the design language slated for future models. The concept is a two-door coupe that's slightly shorter and flatter than the flagship A8 sedan. Like most Audis, the concept sports the signature grilles and most lines are simple and solid. But there’s plenty of drama, too. For starters there’s no B-pillar and the intricate 22-inch definitely stand out.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 that’s tuned to 597 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Audi says the concept features all-wheel steering, with the rear wheels capable of turning up to five degrees. While Audi claims this is nothing more than a design study, rumors suggest that the Prologue could preview a new model, perhaps a more premium and sporty version of the A8 that could wear an A9 badge. With the Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe all by its lonesome, a competitor from Audi would definitely be interesting.
