Cadillac is gearing up to fight the BMW M4 with the all new ATS-V coupe that debuted at this month's Los Angeles auto show. In terms of performance, both coupes are highly capable, with the Caddy boasting a 455-hp twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 and the BMW powered by a 425-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter I-6. But which car has the right styling to match all that power?

Taking a look at the front of the ATS-V, we see a much more aggressive version of the standard compact sedan from which it was derived. A bold heat extractor vent on the carbon fiber hood complements the large upper and lower grilles, while front fenders finish off the look. The BMW M4 takes a subtler approach with a small double kidney grille and a classic-looking hood made from aluminum. Its menacing lower grille is where all the visual action really happens, giving it a bit of differentiation from the standard 4 Series.

The side profiles on these models each make a very different impression on the passerby. The character lines that run across the side of the M4 are bolder compared to the ATS-V. But walk over to the back of these cars and it's a different story. The ATS-V features an upward-facing ducktail spoiler and large vertical taillights that sweep atop the rear quarter panels. The M4's backside couldn't be more different, though it's just as menacing with its wide, low stance. Both models come with quad tailpipes as well as 18-inch wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Peek inside the ATS-V and you'll see Cadillac's signature avant-garde styling. Front and center in this model is a large CUE infotainment system surrounded by suede-like materials and Recaro seats. Inside the M4, look for M sport seats and a more subtle dashboard. Both models feature carbon fiber trim for an upscale, sporty look.

Last week, we asked our readers to compare the unique styling of the Ford Mustang Boss 302 to the new Shelby GT350 Mustang. It turns out many readers liked both models but favored the GT350. Stew said, "The Boss is a good looking car, but the GT350 simply nails it. It is every bit a Mustang, every bit modern, and absolute badassery!" Htdiablo also favored the GT350, commenting, "While the GT350 no doubt wins any comparison test with the boss there is something endearing about the boss and it's simplicity." Many readers also commented on the look of the new 2015 Mustang compared to the previous-gen model. Surreal 1272 wrote, "The new Mustangs are light years ahead of the previous generations in the design department."
