Three years after revealing its first prototype NSX, Acura will bring the final production version to the Detroit auto show in January.

From a teaser image Acura has provided us, we can see the automaker has made at least a few significant changes over the concept model. Elongated jewel eye headlights now feature six individual lights instead of five, giving the supercar a bolder look. The shadowy image also reveals a low stance and racy styling details on the hood.

The NSX we'll see in Detroit reflects the exact design and engine specs that we will see on the model when it comes to market in mid-2015. Expect a mid-engine, twin-turbo V-6 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and three electric motors, one driving the rear wheels and two others for providing torque vectoring to each front wheel.

“The NSX will serve as the ultimate expression of Acura performance that is fueling a reenergized brand," Acura senior vice president Mike Accavitti said in a statement this week. Believe it or not, development of the NSX has been lead by Honda's R&D team in America, and the model will be produced at Honda's Marysville, Ohio plant.
