There can be no list of great American cars without the Model T. At a time when cars were only owned by a wealthy few, Henry Ford set out to put the whole world behind the wheel, and succeeded mightily. More than 15 million examples were made from 1908 to 1927, and even 90 years after production ceased, the T still holds the title of eighth best-selling car of all time. Over 50,000 examples of the Tin Lizzie are still on the road today.
