This year, the folks at Carlisle Events decided to narrow the focus—or, at least, narrow the brand name—of their June GM-oriented show. So last year's GM Nationals became this year's Chevrolet Nationals, just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the most popular Chevys of all time, the Camaro.

No Camaro fan would leave this show wanting for more. The first Camaro was there. So was the five-millionth. There were pace cars, big-block cars, Z cars from every era. The factory brought its latest Camaro supercar, the ZL1 1LE, along with the corner-carving Auto X concept Camaro from last year's SEMA Show.

Because of the 50th anniversary, the field was heavy with Camaros, but all manner of Chevrolets turned out for the Nats, from immaculately restored Tri-Fives to Chevelles, Novas, Monte Carlos, and even Cosworth Vegas and Monzas.

While the focus may have been on Bowties, all GM brands were welcome. Firebird aficionados also had a 50th birthday to celebrate, so there were Pontiac F-Bodies aplenty, including one of the very rare 1969 Trans-Am convertibles. Last year Hurst/Olds was a featured make, and there were H/O models on hand this year, too, along with 4-4-2s, Cutlass S models, and other hot Olds. We saw turbo Buicks, GTOs, and even a Can Am.

And we haven't even begun to describe the amazing collection of muscle that the Super Car Workshop's Brian Henderson gathered for the Solid-Lifter Showroom. That building was so special, in fact, that we are planning a separate story on just those cars.

Next year's Chevrolet Nationals is already on the calendar, June 22-24, 2018, so don't miss out! Visit carlisleevents.com for all the info.
