The 1980s was a strange time for style: an era of fanny packs, velvet hair scrunchies, track suits, big hair, and acid washed denim. Style was at an interesting place in our world, and yet somehow the cars from that decade were generally pretty mundane, aside from a select few. Barrett-Jackson collector car auctions are known for procuring vehicles virtually dripping in provenance, and cars dating back to the early 20th century regularly cross the auction block. While cars such as these typically bring the big bucks when they roll across the stage, we were pretty interested to see how cars from the 1980s would do at the show. As certain vehicles like 1932 Fords and 1957 Chevrolets have increased in value over the years, they have reached a point where they are out of many collectors' reach that's where cars from the 1980s come into play.

We think now is the time to get into a classic 1980s car at reasonable price, because these cars are on the rise and the rare models such as Grand Nationals, special edition Trans Ams, as well as the infamous DeLorean, are already bringing big money. This trend is already starting to spread to other vehicles such as third gen Camaros, square body pickups, and C4 Corvettes, so we're very interested to see what these cars start to bring at auction in upcoming years.

Take a look through this gallery of cars and trucks from the glorious 1980s that we came across at the Barrett Jackson Palm Beach event last weekend.
