If you're a Mopar lover, there's no substitute for the sound of a healthy Hemi, 440, 383, or 340. Furthermore, there's no better-looking muscle car than a nicely optioned Mopar. At the Mecum Auctions 2020 in Kissimmee, Florida, you couldn't throw a rock without hitting a well-done Mopar (we wouldn't recommend doing that, though!).

The Mecum auction tents were full of Chargers, Challengers, Darts, and even a Daytona or Superbird or two.

Topping the Mopar sold list was the Pro Stocker from the Don Wallace Collection. The Mopar drag-racing ambassadors' 'Cuda sold for a crisp $412,500, followed by the Larry Dicksonowned, highly optioned 1971 Hemi GTX. Dickson came back from Vietnam as a decorated soldier and wanted a Hemi car.

The Army sergeant would own the GTX for the rest of his days. Most recently, noted collector Tim Wellborn owned the car, and he brought many cars to the Mecum Kissimmee auction to be sold. Dickson's GTX hammered at $374,000.

Yeah, not all of us have that much coin, but what we can do is play virtual car collector. Which Mopars would you have picked up at Mecum? Let us know at HOTROD@HotRod.com.
