It’s been just two months since the first sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro prototype was spotted. We now get another look at the new Alpha-based musclecar without the bulky black camouflage as before. These spy shots show the new Camaro with white and black swirly wrap camo giving us a better idea of its new shape.

As with the last prototype, the new one sports heat extractor hood vents and quad exhaust tips. The overall shape appears to be an evolution of the current model with smaller round headlights and a slim upper grille. A piece of camo covering the center-mounted bow-tie grille emblem gives the prototype a Pontiac-like feel. The rear roofline on this prototype appears to be more raked than the current car, and the engineers were careful to conceal the shape of the rear quarter windows. Around back, the prototype has three round taillights on each side and a low pedestal-mounted decklid spoiler.

Based on GM’s Alpha platform, the next-generation Camaro is rumored to lose some weight compared to the current model, which could make it lighter than the new 2015 Ford Mustang. Powertrain details for the Camaro haven’t been revealed, but the coupe could use the Cadillac ATS ’ 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 to compete against the Mustang’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4. Other possible engines include the current model’s 3.6-liter V-6 and the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ’s 6.2-liter LT1 V-8, while a ZL1 model could use a version of the Corvette Z06 ’s supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 engine.
