Not Even This 1200-HP Diesel Pickup Can Keep Up With Ken Block's Hoonicorn

It seems nothing can stop Ken Block's Hoonicorn. In Hoonigan's latest drag video showdown series, it's managed to leave everything in its wake, including a McLaren Senna, a 950-horsepower trophy truck, and even a 1000-horsepower Audi RS 3 drag car. This Pikes Peak diesel truck might actually be Block's biggest challenge yet.

This 1949 Ford F100, built by Scott Birdsall of Chuckles Garage, was designed to take records. Under the hood sits a 6.7-liter Cummins straight-six with race-level internals, and a compound turbocharging system. There's also massively wide tires, working aero, and a custom suspension setup. It's currently the fastest diesel-powered vehicle to ever complete the Pikes Peak hill climb, and holds the record for quickest diesel-powered vehicle in the 1/2 mile, at 167 mph. This thing is as serious as Ken's Mustang.

Of course, because the F100 wasn't set up for ultra-quick drag launches, it doesn't exactly perform well against the 1400-horsepower twin-turbo Hoonicorn. Block is able to launch his car more easily, giving him a big enough gap to pull away to the finish. Even with a head start, the truck is left in the dust.

We'll just have to keep waiting to see whether there's any car out there save for a top-fuel dragster that can defeat Block. Judging by how things have gone so far, we might be here a while.
