The Roadster Show Rides Again This Weekend!

Autoweek Logo By Mark Vaughn of Autoweek | Slide 1 of 34: The Grand National Roadster Show opens Friday and runs through Sunday night. Depending on what kind of "car" you think is the coolest, the Roadster Show celebrates the very coolest of the cool. In fact, they pick "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" every year at the show. Last few years they've added significance to their Al Slonaker Award, too, which picks the best non-roadster. The Slonaker Award is aimed at out-customizing the famed Ridler competition back in Detroit. Does it do it? That's up to you to decide. And the judges. These shots are from Thursday, setup day, so the cars are not in their tip-topinest form yet. There's still plastic wrap and carpet remnants all over the place. Plus, the lights aren't on yet. Check back here on Monday for the results, better photos, and the definitive statement about automotive beauty. At least for this year. The show is held at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. It's across the street from a regional airport called Brackett Field that can land private jets, so consider firing up the G650 and come on out. I'll shuttle you from the tarmac to the show.
