With a 707-hp supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 under the hood, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the king of muscle car bragging rights. Its torque output is rated 650 lb-ft of torque. That’s 45 hp and 19 lb-ft more than the discontinued 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 and 127 hp and 94 lb-ft than the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. We recently put the Hellcat and ZL1 together for a musclecar battle and now we we want to know if you would pick the 707-hp Dodge or the 580-hp Chevy.

While the Challenger Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter makes significantly more power than the Camaro ZL1’s supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, the Hellcat is also noticeably heavier. At an as-tested weight of 4449 pounds, the Challenger is nearly 400 pounds heavier than the 4051-pound Camaro. Despite being heavier, the Hellcat was quicker in our straight-line acceleration tests, while the lighter ZL1 stopped shorter and pulled a higher lateral g on the skidpad (See our comparison here for the complete test results.)

The Challenger Hellcat even surprised at the dynamometer. Despite its eight-speed automatic, the 707-hp Hellcat had a lower drivetrain loss than the Camaro ZL1 equipped with a six-speed manual. That said, would you choose the 707-hp 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat or 580-hp 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1? Share your thoughts on today’s Thread of the Day here.
