The 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf receives a $1,995 price cut. A new Limited Edition trim level that costs $34,270 with destination charges, or $229 per month if leased, undercuts the previous starting price of the electric car.

To help cut the price, the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf Limited Edition has 16-inch steel wheels in place of the alloys standard on the regular model, cloth seats instead of leatherette, halogen headlights instead of LEDs, and it does not offer the heat-pump heating system featured on the standard e-Golf SEL Premium. However, the Limited Edition retains push-button start, touchscreen navigation, LED running lights, automatic climate control, an electric parking brake, a backup camera, a heated windshield, and parking sensors as standard.
