At the New York auto show next week, Land Rover will debut the 2016 Range Rover Sport HST Limited Edition that features unique design elements and an upgraded V-6 engine. The automaker will also announce other changes to the Range Rover Sport lineup for the new model year, including a new diesel offering for North America.

The 2016 Range Rover Sport HST Limited Edition boasts a 3.0-liter V-6 supercharged engine just like the standard model, but produces 40 more hp. This 380-hp model also has an upgraded suspension and brakes to increase performance. With its unique Terrain Response setup, drivers can opt for Dynamic Mode that optimizes steering and other systems for smoother on-road driving.

As far as design goes, the model features 21-inch alloy wheels with a dark satin gray finish and red brake calipers. The hood, grille, fog lamp bezels, and front fender vents also get special treatment, featuring a Gloss Black finish. The hood and tailgate are marked with "Range Rover" lettering, while unique HST badging adorns the front fender vents. Inside, look for Oxford Leather seats, unique bright "Sports" pedals, and ebony door trim and center console. More specialty badges are located on the dashboard, carpet mats, and instrument panel.

For the entire Range Rover Sport lineup, Range Rover is making a few minor—and one major—change for the 2016 model year. The automaker is bringing its 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 diesel engine to North America. The engine—which produces 254 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque—is estimated to achieve 22/28 mpg city/highway according to Land Rover. Other changes to the model include standard hands-free gesture tailgate, Terrain Progress Control with advanced off-road capability, and a new InControl Remote app feature that allows drivers to connect their vehicle with their smartphones.

Land Rover will make an announcement on the new Range Rover Sport lineup at a press preview to the New York auto show next week, but don't expect pricing details to be announced until later this year.
