Range Rover SVAutobiography: "Looks Expensive Because It Is"

Dancing women with black overcoats and Union Jack umbrellas welcomed media to the Jaguar- Land Rover press conference at the 2015 New York auto show today, as the former celebrates its 80th anniversary this year while the latter crosses 45 years. The brands unapologetically showcased their British roots, a distinction that, of course, no one else in the non-specialty luxury segment can boast.

Debuting with a black-over-silver paint scheme, the $200,000 2016 Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography is "the epitome of British sophistication," said Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern. And how about the six-figure price of the SVAutobiography model, which has real "aluminum" details?

We can't wait to compare the three British super-luxury SUVs, but for what it's worth, Range Rover will occupy the space first.

In person, the Range Rover SVAutobiography looks sufficiently upscale inside and out, though even more so inside the cabin. Those chrome 22-inch wheels look great, but we're curious what the ride will be like over, say, New York City streets from the two reclining rear seats.
