  • Hyundai is giving the 2021 Sonata SEL Plus Pirelli P Zero all-season tires wrapped on 19-inch wheels.
  • The Limited model gets a standard six-way-adjustable power passenger seat, and the SEL, SEL Plus, and Limited models are adding a standard safe exit warning feature.
  • The 2021 Sonata goes on sale in the United States in August and should start at around $25,000.

Hyundai is giving the Sonata sedan a higher-performance N-Line model sometime this year that'll be powered by a turbocharged engine with at least 290 horsepower. In the meantime, though, it's adding some standard features to some of the higher trim levels, including Pirelli P Zero all-season tires wrapped on 19-inch wheels on the SEL Plus model.

Those tires are size 245/40R-17, and Hyundai says they reduce road noise inside the cabin. They're standard on the Sonata SEL Plus but unfortunately aren't available on any other trim levels. Additionally, the top-of-the-line Limited model gets a standard six-way adjustable power passenger seat.

The Sonata SEL, SEL Plus, and Limited models add standard safe exit warning, which uses the blind-spot-monitoring cameras to detect oncoming traffic when the vehicle is parallel parked. The system displays a warning on the gauge cluster along with an audible alert to warn both front- and back-seat passengers of oncoming traffic before they open a door.

The 2021 Hyundai Sonata goes on sale next month, and pricing is expected to start just under $27,000 for the SEL model, around $29,000 for the SEL Plus, and top out at just over $34,000 for the Limited model.
