The first 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat to come off the production line recently rolled through an auction block and, not surprisingly, fetched a good amount of money. Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN #0001 sold for $825,000 this weekend at a Barrett-Jackson auction held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

All proceeds will go to Opportunity Village, an organization serving those with intellectual disabilities in Las Vegas. System.Xml.XmlElement© Provided by MotorTrend System.Xml.XmlElement

The special Hellcat sports a number of unique visual features to stand out from the normal Hellcats. For starters there’s its Stryker Red paint, which is usually reserved for Vipers. Like the Viper, the Hellcat went through a special hand-painted process at the Viper’s paint facility. Additionally, Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN #0001 comes with special badging, documentation, and memorabilia, including an iPad mini that’s loaded with photos and video footage of the car being built at the factory.

The 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat carries a base price of $60,990 and is powered by a 707-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. Those wanting a bit more practicality than the Challenger are in luck because also getting the blown eight-cylinder is the Charger SRT Hellcat sedan.
