  • Lexus previews the distant future of the brand with the QZ 618 Galactic Enforcer jet, which is named for the universe's largest black hole.
  • Using quasar power source technology, the jet can jump from one section of the universe to the other in the blink of an eye.
  • The Galactic Enforcer–and the 2020 Lexus RC F sport coupe–makes its big-screen debut in MIB: International this Thursday.

We previously reported that Lexus's RC F sport coupe would make a cameo in the latest installment of the Men in Black movie franchise, but we didn't know that Lexus would be giving the universe an extra-early sneak preview into the brand's design intentions for the distant future. At the push of a button, the RC F transforms itself into this wild Lexus QZ 618 Galactic Enforcer jet, which retains today's familiar spindle grille design.

Lexus says the jet is powered by quasar power source technology (QPST) that uses the energy from the nearest active galactic nucleus. Straight-line performance is out of this world, literally, as Lexus claims a zero-to-60-mph time of just 0.0000000000001 nanoseconds. We haven't had the chance to test the QZ 618 Galactic Enforcer with our own equipment, but expect a similarly gut-wrenching result when we finally do.

In addition to its light-bending performance, Lexus also claims a quite-efficient 122 mpg (that's Millenia Per Gallon, not miles per gallon), although it's not clear if that figure can be achieved in all three of the jet's available driving modes, which includes EcoDrive, SportDrive, and QuantumDrive.

It comes standard with plenty of safety features, including the RC F's standard set of driver-assistance technologies. What's offered here that isn't included on all RC F sports coupes, however, is a protective force field feature. Additional technologies throughout the jet's cabin aim for convenience, including the Amazon Alexa integration feature with support for seven trillion alien languages, gamma-ray headlamps, and an inter-galactic positioning system (i-GPS).

The jet's seats are lined with rich, Adorian leather and feature 31-point safety harnesses to accommodate all manner of human and alien body types. Pilots can choose from six different exterior paint colors, including the completely appropriate Umbra Black, which Lexus claims is the darkest black in the entire universe.

The QZ 618 Galactic Enforcer will make its big-screen debut on Thursday, June 14, when MIB: Internationalopens to the public. In addition to the Lexuses, the new movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.
