Lotus has its heart set on making a comeback, with long-term plans on building new models that expand the brand's global reach. Before that happens though, the British automaker revealed it's going to reintroduce the Evora to the North American market for the 2016 model year and expand its dealer network.

The 2014 Evora is still available on a limited basis over the next few months, however, the compact sports car will not be around for the 2015 model year. This gap gives Lotus time to improve the new 2016 Evora, though no other details were given on the revised sports car. Quality has been an issue with Lotus cars, but the company plans on making that a thing of the past. "We will continue to explore our core values on how to make a sports car better by making it faster, lighter and maintain the pure driving experience," said Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales in a release. Although rumors suggested the company may leave the North American market, Lotus announced it's going to do the opposite and expand its dealer network instead. Three new U.S. dealerships popped up over the last year, with more expected to open in the U.S. and Canada in the next few months. That brings the current dealer network count up to 45 dealers.
