2004 Scion xA REVIEW logo 4/5/2017

Con: The cool stuff costs extra, modest passing power with automatic transmission, no cruise control.

Pro: Handles well for an economy car, lengthy standard equipment list, comfortable seats, easy to load cargo, better deal than Toyota's Echo.

Edmunds Say: Roomy and well-equipped, the spunky Scion xA is one of the best buys for 2004 in the economy car segment.

What’s New: In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered; one of these is a small but well-equipped five-door hatchback called the xA. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xAs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.
