Here is a breakdown of the things we love and the things we've had to learn to live with in the past thirteen months behind the wheel of our long-term Nissan Frontier.


-It's simple and fun to drive.
-SIZE: Easy to fit in tight parking spaces and navigate through narrow trails.
-Everyone wants to be your friend when they need to move.
-Manual: Easy gearbox makes for seamless manual shifting and clutch engagement.
-You can fit 6-foot fencing in (our) bed with the tailgate closed.
-V-6 is peppy and with more than enough torque.
-PRO-4X Package: even with the off-road package, it feels good as a daily driver and on the highway.
-Clutch Cancel Start Button: It's the only way to start the truck when your clutch pedal sensor breaks off.
-Towing: It not as fancy as a 1/2-ton, but it gets the job done.
-Jump seats are perfect for small children.
-Carlike steering with good feel and linearity. Tight and not sloppy
-There's a handy iPod cable in the glovebox.
-Utili-track system is very easy to use.


-You can't get Satellite Radio with the manual transmission.
-The seats take some adjusting to get comfortable.
-Door locks: I wish you could tug on the interior door handles twice to unlock.
-Outdated plastic dash design.
-Steering wheel buttons don't light up at night.
-Bluetooth: The truck cabin is loud when the truck is in motion and the microphone has a hard time picking up my voice. People on the other end have a hard time hearing my words clear.
-Center console is too short to be used as an armrest.
-Venting: There is no way to fully close the two air vents that cradle the radio head unit. No matter what position I adjust the vent to, the air still hits me. I have learned that if you hit the cabin air recirculation button, it stops the flow from air from those vents.
-When you plug in an iPod, it doesn't charge it. And it isn't just an aux jack. It is an iPod-specific cord that's hard-wired.
-Clutch Pedal Sensor tends to break off, common issue we researched online.
