A special 2013 Ford Mustang was one of the <_3d_22_22_ a=""> “Need For Speed,” and one eager bidder just paid $300,000 to own the custom pony car. The Mustang rolled onto the block at a Barrett-Jackson event in Florida where Dave Flynn of Columbiana, Ohio emerged as the winning bidder for the no-reserve auction.

The custom Mustang was just one of the many cars featured in “Need For Speed,” which was a film adaptation of the popular video game franchise. While the Mustang was said to make 900 hp in the movie, in real life it’s still producing 420 hp from its 5.0-liter V-8. Modifications include Forgiato 22-inch rims, a twin-snorkel hood, body kit, and Kona Blue racing stripes accenting the Mustang’s silver paint job.

Coincidentally, the first 2015 Ford Mustang GT also fetched $300,000 at an auction. A 2015 Mustang made a cameo in “Need for Speed,” marking the first time the new sixth-generation model appeared in a movie. The Mustang, which celebrates its 50th birthday this year, has appeared in over 3000 movies, according to Ford.
