New for 2015

The 2015 BMW M4, the coupe and convertible version of the M3 sedan, is a new model.

Vehicle Summary

The 2015 BMW M4 is the high-performance variant of the 4 Series coupe and convertible. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 with 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque that's paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Fuel economy is decent for a performance-oriented vehicle at 17/26 mpg city/highway with the manual and 17/24 mpg with the automatic.

Acceleration in the 2015 BMW M4 is effortless thanks to the twin-turbo inline-six, which has virtually no turbo lag and makes full torque from 1,800 rpm. This means power delivery is immediate thanks to the car's responsive throttle especially in Sport+ mode. The M4's unique suspension tuning, which is shared with the M3 sedan, gives the car impeccable handling and are engaging to drive on twisty roads or on a track. Ride quality, however, is firm even with the adjustable suspension in Comfort mode.

What We Think

The 2015 BMW M4 is an excellent performance car that balances track-ready performance with daily usability. In a First Drive review, we said that the car remains "incredibly flat" when taking corners and had "no perceptible roll on the street." However, the car does ride firm even in its softest setting while steering feel is nearly nonexistent due to the car moving to electric power assist.
