New for 2015

The 2015 Buick Enclave gets a heated wood steering wheel on Leather and Premium models, and a new Dark Plum interior color. Four new exterior colors, Crimson Red Tricoat, Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic, Dark Chocolate Metallic and Midnight Amethyst Metallic, are now available.

Vehicle Summary

The 2015 Buick Enclave is a three-row crossover with seating for up to eight passengers and is sold in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. Its sole engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 rated at 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque and paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is 17/24 mpg city/highway for front-drive models and 16/22 mpg with all-wheel drive.

With the 2015 Buick Enclave's emphasis on providing high levels of comfort, driving performance in the slightly heavycrossover isn't a strong suit, with slow acceleration and mediocre handling. Ride quality, on the other hand, is superb. A revised suspension improved the Enclave in the Buick's 2013 model year refresh, improving on the crossover's smoothness and making the cabin even quieter.

Room for passengers is generous inside the 2015 Enclave with a spacious second row particularly when the crossover is equipped with captain's chairs. Build quality is good with high-grade materials used throughout the cabin (with the exception of the unconvincing faux-wood). Cargo space is generous with up to 67.5 cubic-feet of space with the second and third rows folded down.

The 2015 Buick Enclave has a five-star overall safety score from the NHTSA (out of a possible five stars).

UPDATE: Optional safety features include forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot warning, and a central air bag that prevents the driver and front passenger from hitting each other in the event of a side-impact collision. In IIHS evaluations, the SUV received a Good score in four categories (Good is the highest possible score).

What We Think

While the 2015 Buick Enclave remains a decent luxury crossover, it is showing its age with interior clusters and gauges. In a 2013 First Test review, we said that the car has a spacious and well-appointed interior that provides a comfortable and luxurious ride in all three rows. Additionally, the IntelliLink infotainment system is easy to use and controls that are within the driver's reach. However, the crossover is missing features that should come standard in a luxury crossover, such as hands-free keyless access.
