Chevrolet has announced yet another special edition trim for its half-ton pickup: the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight edition. With a black monochromatic finish, the special edition truck has a sinister look.

Based on the Silverado 1500 Z71 model, the Midnight edition is available only in black and features a black grille, bumper, headlight bezels, fog lights, and tow hooks up front. Black is also used for the side moldings and beltline moldings, while black painted 18-inch alloy wheels shod with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires continue the look on the side. Other features include a black spray-in bedliner, black rear bumper, and black Chevrolet bowties on the front grille and tailgate.

“The Midnight special edition, like our recently announced Custom Sport Silverado, lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory,” said Sandor Piszar, Silverado marketing director, in a release. “Customers can get a monochrome exterior, black alloy wheels and other uplevel touches, while maintaining all of the dependability Chevy trucks are famous for along with full factory warranty coverage.”

In addition to the Z71 package (off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package), the Silverado Midnight special edition also features rear park assist and heated, power side mirrors.

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Midnight edition treatment is available on Silverado 1500 Z71 models with double-cab or crew-cab bodystyles. Chevrolet will build up to 5000 Midnight special edition models for the 2015 model year. Package prices range from $1595 to $1995 depending on configuration.

Initially shown at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco this week, the Silverado Midnight Edition will make its official public debut at the Chicago Auto Show next month.
