Vehicle Summary

The Ferrari LaFerrari is a supercar powered by a 6.3-liter hybrid V-12 with a combined system output of 950 hp. making it the most powerful Ferrari ever. Even though it’s a hybrid, the LaFerrari emphasizes performance over fuel economy and is rated at 12/17 mpg city/highway with its seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Ferrari LaFerrari provides impeccable performance with light but precise steering, and a responsive chassis. The high-revving V-12, which is a retuned version of the unit found on the F12berlinetta, gives the LaFerrari exceptional acceleration when combined with the electric motor and the quick-shifting dual-clutch transmission. Since this is a performance application of a hybrid powertrain, the LaFerrari doesn’t have an electric-only mode and is focused on making the car faster instead of saving fuel. The car’s adjustable magnetic suspension enables drivers to choose between different settings including a bumpy road option that improves the LaFerrari's cruising experience.

What We Think

The Ferrari LaFerrari is one of the best driver’s cars on sale, with its powerful and sweet-sounding hybrid V-12 engine, impeccable chassis, and lightning-fast dual-clutch automatic transmission. In a First Drive review, we said that the car is one of the best driving vehicles thanks to its exhilarating driving dynamics and road manners that inspire driver confidence. Additionally, it drives with “utter linearity” and focuses on “satisfying the driver” rather than flaunting the technologies that make it such a potent performer on the track and on twisty roads. Surprisingly, the LaFerrari is also a great cruiser thanks to its magnetic suspension’s “bumpy road” setting.
