The new 2015 Jeep Renegade will start at under $20,000 when it goes on sale later this year. With a starting price of $18,990 including destination, the new compact crossover is priced like many compact cars, though it doesn’t come standard with much equipment.

The base price is for the front-wheel-drive Renegade Sport, which comes standard with the 160-hp, 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission. This model is a true stripper, as it does without amenities like air conditioning, cruise control, and power mirrors. Those features are part of an option package, as is a 5.0-inch Uconnect touchscreen system that adds Bluetooth capability as well.

Other trim levels include Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. Sport and Latitude trim levels come standard with a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a six-speed manual transmission. The 184-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder, paired with a standard nine-speed automatic transmission, is optional on the Sport and Latitude, and standard on the Limited and Trailhawk. Jeep has not yet announced the option cost of the larger four-cylinder.

Stepping up to the 2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude model costs $22,990, and adds fog lights, tinted windows, roof rails, two more speakers for the stereo, cruise control, a Uconnect infotainment system with a 5.0-inch screen, Bluetooth, a USB port, a backup camera and alloy wheels. The $25,790 Limited model gains a sunroof, some extra chrome trim outside, automatic climate control, a larger TFT screen for the instrument panel, leather seats that are heated in front, and a heated steering wheel.
