The 2015 Kia Forte sedan has earned a 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Last year, the 2014 Kia Forte sedan earned a 4-Star safety rating. The 2015 model hasn’t been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Helping the Kia Forte to earn the 5-Star safety rating are strengthened A-pillars and lower side sills, which are new for 2015. The 2015 Kia Forte sedan earned 5 stars in the side crash test and 4 stars in the frontal and rollover tests.

Although the 2015 Kia Forte sedan hasn’t been evaluated by the IIHS, the 2014 model earned a Top Safety Pick with a Good rating in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats tests, and a Poor rating in the small overlap front test. The reinforced A-pillars could help the 2015 model's performance in the brutal small overlap crash test.
