Safety testing has become more challenging, and the struggle to keep up with constantly changing regulations and safety award criteria keeps automakers on their toes. The all-new 2015 Kia Sedona has risen to the challenge by earning an overall five-star safety rating from the NHTSA after scoring five stars in the front-impact, side-impact, and pole tests; and four stars in the rollover test.

In addition, the 2015 Kia Sedona was also named Top Safety Pick by IIHS. The IIHS continually changes its testing criteria, with new tests added for the 2014 model year, and further changes implemented for the 2015 model year. Despite the stricter standards, the Sedona earned one of the safety institute's highest distinctions.

The Sedona earned its safety accolades thanks in part to an all-new chassis that features 76 percent more Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), which adds to the body's overall rigidity and durability. Kia says that the Sedona chassis' static torsional stiffness is 36 percent greater than its closest competitor. In addition, the Sedona gets a laundry list of standard safety features.
