Mazda is continuing the MX-5 Miata’s 25th birthday celebration at the 2014 New York Auto Show. It previously announced it was dedicating an entire booth to display past and present Miatas, and now it has just unveiled a 2015 Mazda Miata 25th Anniversary Edition. Mazda is also teasing the next-generation Miata by showing off the roadster’s new Skyactiv-Chassis.

The 25th Anniversary Edition Miata will be limited to just 100 copies for the U.S. Mazda says the special Miata’s engine will be built with “hand-selected” and “best balanced premium parts.” Bilstein dampers are used on cars with the six-speed manual gearbox, while 17-inch Dark Gunmetal 10-spoke wheels are fitted at the four corners. The roadster sports Soul Red metallic paint with Brilliant Black used for contrast on the A-pillar, mirror caps, and the power-retractable hard top. The interior features a two-tone almond and black color scheme, while 25th Anniversary badges can be found throughout the vehicle. Mazda points out that the red and black dash panel is hand-painted. The 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition goes on sale this spring. If you want your chance to grab one then pay attention to Mazda’s social media channels, where it will announce details on the ordering process in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Mazda is showing off the chassis that will underpin the new 2016 Miata. Details are slim, but the automaker claims the chassis is stronger and 14 percent lighter, with a revised suspension setup that will improve handling. The fourth-generation Miata will also be Mazda’s first front-engine, rear-drive car to employ Skyactiv technology, including at least one new naturally aspirated I-4 engine.MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image
