Details on the 2015 Panoz Esperante Spyder and wide-body Spyder GT 25th Anniversary Edition models have been revealed. Yes, those Panoz models are still around. Although the Esparante Spyder and Spyder GT are based on a 14-year-old design, they have been updated with modern components for the company's silver anniversary.

The Esperante is still based around a modular extruded aluminum chassis with a carbon fiber superstructure and Superplastic Forming (SPF) aluminum body panels, though the mechanical and electronic bits have been updated with modern technology. The interior, including the functional carbon fiber cockpit structures, has also been revamped.

Power comes from a choice of a naturally aspirated Panoz/ Élan Power Products-tuned V-8 engine with 430 hp and an available supercharged version with 560 hp. Transmission choices include a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual or an optional six-speed auto with paddle shifters. Power is sent to a rear limited-slip differential with 3.55 gears. Custom engines with 800 hp or more can also be optioned.

The Esperante Spyder and Spyder GT feature independent front and rear suspensions and a hydraulic rack and pinion steering system. Stopping power for the Esperante Spyder comes from two-piece 14-inch vented and slotted rotors clamped by four-piston Brembo calipers up front and two-piece 13-inch vented and slotted rotors out back, while the Spyder GT gets six-piston Brembo calipers up front and four-piston Brembo calipers out back.

Those Brembo brakes on the Esperante Spyder peek out from behind forged alloy BBS wheels measuring 19x8.5 inches up front and 19x9.5 inches in back. Those wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires sized 245/40ZR19 and 285/35ZR19 front and rear, respectively. A set of two-piece forged alloy BBS RS GT wheels is also available. The Spyder GT features 19x10-inch BBS aluminum monobloc wheels up front with 19x12-inch wheels out back.

Panoz estimates the Esperante Spyder will reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and finish the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 112 mph. Top speed is said to be 172 mph. Stopping from 60 mph takes just 112 feet, according to Panoz. Performance figures for the wide-body Spyder GT haven’t been revealed.

Inside, the 25th anniversary models feature a full leather interior with available Alcantara trim (seats, dash, door panels, and center console). Brushed billet aluminum trim adorns the cabin. The gauge cluster features a configurable 10.6-inch ID4Motion digital display. The infotainment system includes a 7.0-inch color screen. A leather-wrapped 13.75-inch Momo steering wheel is standard, while a 14-inch flat-bottom wheel is available. Lightweight sports seats are standard, while ultra-lightweight race seats with carbon fiber seatbacks are available. Schroth four-point harnesses are standard. The 25th anniversary models can also be specified with wood, carbon fiber, and billet aluminum trim.

The 2015 Panoz Esperante Spyder and wide-body Spyder GT 25th Anniversary Edition models are priced respectively at $179,120 and $204,750 (not including destination).
