Vehicle Overview

The Porsche Cayenne has a baby brother. The 2015 Porsche Macan is Stuttgart's latest model, and it's all-new for this year. It's a compact-ish crossover designed to increase Porsche's customer base and its bottom line so the automaker can churn out more pet projects such as the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Though it's an SUV, the Porsche Macan is designed to be sporty. The base Macan S is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 producing 340 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque, while the Porsche Macan Turbo gets a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 making 400 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. No matter the engine, the Macan gets a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and standard all-wheel drive.

Both the Macan S and Macan Turbo are available with lane change assist and lane keep assist. Adaptive cruise control is bundled together with forward collision warning and automatic forward emergency braking in both models.

In our First Drive of the 2015 Porsche Macan, we wrote, "Along country roads and the autobahn, the Macan S and Turbo pampered drivers and passengers with a quiet, posh cabin; a supple yet sporty ride; and the power and poise to handle triple-digit blasts and meandering sweepers with equal ease." The Macan Turbo impressed on the track for a 4000-plus-pound SUV, while the Macan S was even capable of light off-roading.

New for 2015

The Porsche Macan is all-new this year. While its lineup currently consists of just two models, the Macan lineup is expected to expand with hybrid, Turbo S, and possibly GTS models in the coming years. Macan price ranges from $50,895 to $73,295.
