An update to the 2015 Subaru Impreza brings new features, a slightly different look, and improved fuel economy to this all-wheel-drive compact sedan and hatchback. Notable additions include Subaru’s EyeSight active safety system, along with the company’s latest infotainment system that debuted in the 2015 Subaru Legacy.

The improved EPA ratings of 28/37/31 mpg city/highway/combined (up 1 mpg all around) are thanks to revised tuning for the optional Lineartronic CVT, which is now standard on the 2.0i Premium and Limited trims, where it was previously a $500 option. A five-speed manual transmission is still standard equipment on the base 2.0i and Sport Premium trim levels, and achieves the same 25/34 mpg city/highway as last year’s model.

Subaru has also changed the styling of the 2015 Subaru Impreza inside and out, with the front end receiving a new bumper, grille, and headlights to bring it closer in line with the look of the redesigned 2015 Legacy. On the inside, all Impreza models including the base trim now have Subaru’s new touchscreen infotainment system as standard. A 6.2-inch screen is standard in 2.0i and 2.0i Premium trims, and a larger 7-inch screen comes standard on Limited trims. This more intuitive system should be a welcome change from the previous, overly complex touchscreen, and means that a backup camera is now standard on all versions of the 2015 Impreza.

Even more significant is the addition of the Subaru EyeSight driver assist system to the Impreza, which is available for 2015 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Limited sedan models and 2.0i Sport Limited hatchback models. The EyeSight system features active safety systems including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a pre-collision braking system.

Additionally, the 2015 Subaru Impreza features additional sound deadening and thicker windows for a quieter ride, and the steering is retuned with a quicker ratio for better agility.
