The 2016 Audi TT debuted as a coupe and convertible at this year’s Geneva and Paris shows, respectively, but the U.S.-spec TT and TTS are set to be revealed at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show. We'll see the same, all-new MQB architecture and updated interior that was revealed at the 2014 Consumer Electronics show, along with modernized styling as we've seen on the European Audi TT and TTS.

However, the U.S.-spec 2016 Audi TT and TTS will arrive with different horsepower and torque figures than their European counterparts. From the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, our version of the 2016 Audi TT coupe and convertible makes 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, compared to the European model’s 230 hp and 272 lb-ft. Meanwhile the 2016 Audi TTS coming to U.S. shores ekes out 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter turbo-four, and the European TTS is capable of 310 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. As was the case with prior generations of the Audi TT, the 2.0-liter diesel engine sold in Europe will not be offered to U.S. buyers.

All 2016 Audi TT and TTS models sold in the 'States will come equipped with quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Sorry, row-your-own fans, no third pedal will be coming our way. And those eager to enjoy the 2016 Audi TTS with the sun shining on their neck will have to cross the Atlantic to do so -- the TTS will only be available in the U.S. as a hardtop coupe.

On the other hand, we do get all of the same high-tech goodies on our versions of the 2016 Audi TT and TTS available in Europe. The new 12.3-inch TFT display, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi capability, MMI infotainment with touchpad interfacing, and navigation will all be available.

Pricing and equipment are not yet available for the 2016 Audi TT and TTS, but the 2015 Audi TT coupe starts at $41,245 including destination and the convertible starts at $44,425.
