The countdown for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro debut now stands at a little over two weeks, and it appears that General Motors isn’t done teasing the sixth-generation sports car. This time around, GM is showing off digitized illustrations of what will be the 2016 Camaro’s rear fender as well as its new aluminum hood.

GM previously revealed that the Camaro would be at least 200 pounds lighter than the current model thanks to aluminum construction. In addition to the hood, aluminum will be employed for a number of suspension components and a support beam for the instrument panel.

Recent spy photos also provide a good hint that the design will be more of an evolution of the fifth-generation model, with a high belt line and an aggressive-looking front end.

GM has already confirmed that the new Camaro will be the next recipient of GM’s 6.2-liter, LT1 V-8. It’ll replace and make more power than the LS3 V-8 found in the current Camaro SS, which is rated at 426 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.

GM will officially unveil the 2016 Camaro on May 16, though we wouldn’t be surprised if the automaker teases the car a few more times before then.
