At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Chevy has once again teased the 2016 Volt. The range-extended EV's front end is shown again, and seeing it from different angles with no cover gives us a somewhat better idea of what to expect when the model is fully revealed next week in Detroit on January 12.

The car's twin metallic-finished front grilles are prominently featured, as are its sleeker headlights and vertical LED daytime running lights. In addition to the front end, we've also seen the plug-in's rear hatch. The new photos don't give us a whole lot of new info, but we know quite a bit about the upcoming model already. An all-new powertrain comprised of a 1.5-liter I-4 and two electric motors (as opposed to the outgoing car's single motor) propels the 2016 Chevy Volt, supplied by a lithium-ion battery pack with redesigned cells. With the new setup, Chevy says low-speed acceleration will improve by 20 percent, while all-electric range will increase from 38 miles to around 50 miles. 2016 Chevrolet Volt Teaser© Provided by MotorTrend 2016 Chevrolet Volt Teaser

We'll see the rest of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt in Detroit next week, but until then check out these latest photos of the plug-in's front end.
