The 2016 Mazda6 and the 2016 Mazda CX-5 are a little more expensive this year. Both models were refreshed at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show in November, and will be in Mazda showrooms by early March.

The 2016 Mazda6 benefits from a new front fascia, new grille, and new headlights, along with a revised dashboard, new instruments, Mazda's latest MazdaConnect infotainment system, and an electric parking brake. All versions continue to use a 2.5-liter inline-four engine rated for 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the Sport and Touring trim levels, while a six-speed automatic is optional on those models and standard on the Grand Touring.

Pricing starts at $22,315 (including an $820 destination charge) for the 2016 Mazda6 i Sport with a manual transmission, and $23,815 with an automatic transmission. Standard equipment on the automatic-equipped model includes a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a backup camera, and a sport mode for the transmission. The next step up is the Touring trim, which costs $24,795 with a manual and $25,815 with an automatic. It adds 19-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warnings, a power driver's seat, and push-button start. Finally, the $31,015 2016 Mazda6 Grand Touring adds touchscreen navigation, leather seats, a power passenger seat, LED foglights, and a rear spoiler.

2016 Mazda CX-5
As for the Mazda6 sedan, the 2016 Mazda CX-5 benefits from a mild exterior update and some interior tweaks, including the addition of the MazdaConnect system and an electric parking brake. 2016 Mazda CX-5 pricing starts at $22,615 for the Sport manual transmission model. It's the only CX-5 to use a 155-hp, 2.0-liter inline-four engine. Every other CX-5, starting with the Sport automatic, employs a 184-hp, 2.5-liter inline-four. Standard equipment on the Sport automatic, which costs with $24,015 front-wheel drive and $25,265 with all-wheel drive, includes 17-inch wheels, Bluetooth, cruise control, a four-speaker sound system, and more.

Moving up to the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring costs $26,035 with front-wheel drive and $27,285 with all-wheel drive. Extra equipment includes blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warnings, a backup camera, the new MazdaConnect touchscreen infotainment system, a power driver's seat, fog lights, and push-button start. Finally, the Grand Touring trim level adds 19-inch wheels, automatic headlights, a power moonroof, automatic wipers, leather seats, a Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats. It lists for $29,040 with front-wheel drive and $30,290 with all-wheel drive.
