Mercedes-Benz released prices for several 2016 models including the new GLC, G-Class, GLE Coupe, and C450 AMG 4MATIC. Most notably, the new GLC crossover cuts below the $40,000-mark while the G-Class soars in price.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC

Replacing the current-gen GLK, the Mercedes-Benz GLC compact crossover will be priced slightly higher than the BMW X3 when it arrives this fall. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 and GLC300 4MATIC start at $39,875 and $41,875, respectively. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four rated 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The engine is backed by a new nine-speed automatic transmission.

2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

Priced from $120,825, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is $4,500 more expensive than last year's model. For the coin, the G-Class gains new front and rear bumpers, larger wheel arches, and larger standard 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the G-Class gets a revised instrument cluster. The new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8, from the AMG GT S and AMG C63, is rated 416 hp and 450 lb-ft; increases of 34 hp and 59 lb-ft over the outgoing engine. The AMG G63 is priced at $140,825 and features a horsepower increase to 563 hp – an extra 27 hp. New to the U.S. is the AMG G65, which starts at $218,825. Its twin-turbo V-12 produced 621 hp and 738 lb-ft. Expect the G-Class models to arrive around November. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

Like the GLE, the sportier Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe also arrives this month. The base GLE450 AMG is a bit more expensive than the standard GLE, priced at $66,025 for the base GLE450 AMG or $110,225 for the AMG GLE63 S. The GLE 450 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 rated 362 hp and 384 lb-ft. Power is sent through a nine-speed automatic to all four wheels (40:60 split) by the 4MATIC system. Standard features include 21-inch AMG wheels, AIRMATIC suspension, and COMAND System with Navigation and Touchpad.

The AMG GLE63 S Coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8 rated at 577 hp and 561 lb-ft. Standard features include 22-inch AMG cross-spoke wheels, AMG front and rear bumpers, quad exhaust tips, and AMG Exclusive Nappa Leather.

2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC

Priced at $51,725, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC is the first Mercedes-Benz AMG Sport model that slots just below the full-on AMG models. Powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 rated 362 hp and 384 lb-ft, the C450 AMG 4MATIC is said to hit 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system sends 33 percent of power to the front wheels and 67 percent of power to the rear wheels. Other AMG bits include three-stage suspension, larger brakes with four-piston calipers, revised steering, upgraded axles, and tuned exhaust system as well as unique interior and exterior styling. Sales are expected to begin next month. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image
