Mercedes-Benz has slowly been revealing information about the upcoming, all-new GLE Coupe, first with details on the GLE 450 AMG Coupe, and now, the engine options for the regular GLE 400 and European-spec GLE 350d.

When the volume GLE 400 arrives in the U.S., it will be powered by a new direct-injected twin-turbo V-6 engine that makes 333 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. This engine is likely the same one from the C400, though it's been tuned to produce four horses more in this application. A GLE 350d will also be joining the GLE lineup, but as is often the case with diesel Mercedes models, we probably won't be seeing it here. With that said, European markets will be able to opt for the GLE 350d, which will put out 258 hp and 457 lb-ft. Full engine specs on the diesel model have not yet been revealed. 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe Left Rear View© Provided by MotorTrend 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe Left Rear View

When the GLE Coupe goes on sale in the U.S. this coming summer, buyers will have a choice between the GLE 400 and GLE 450 AMG before the GLE63 arrives later on. No matter the engine, all GLE Coupes will come with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. All models, including the AMG sport model, also get a green-tinted and heat-insulating windshield, and LEDs for the headlights, daytime running lights, and brake lights. A power-operated tailgate and backup camera are also included in the standard equipment. Big 20-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels are also standard on both the non-AMG models, which also get the usual infotainment bits found inside the C-, E-, and S-Class.

A number of options are also available, including a Driving Assistance Package that offers a ton of the active driver safety systems including cross traffic assist; a parking package that features a 360-degree camera; and a Magic Vision Control system, which throws in a heated windscreen wiper system. A first for the segment, Mercedes has made a fully electric extendable and retractable trailer coupling for the GLE, which boasts a towing capacity of up to 7716 lbs.
